The CCA Senior and Intermediate grades tournament was held, at Fendalton Croquet Club, on Sunday 1 March 2026. The weather was mixed with cloud to start with, a bit of sunshine then rain in the afternoon.
United’s Betty Inglewood was in the Senior grade and Beverley Parlane, Judy Derby, Jill and Alastair Smithies were in the Intermediate grade.
Betty won 3 of her 4 block play games and her semi final but lost in the final to Ian Rutherford from Wakatipu.
In the Intermediate grade, after playing 5 games it was Jill and Alastair to play off for a place in the final. Play went to the 13th hoop with Jill going through to the final, which she won against Ian Bain from Broadfield.
Thank you to the team at Fendalton for their lawn preparation and hosting the tournament and to Gaylene Jones for managing.
Betty played her final game in steady rain and presentation was made as soon as she had finished.
